WMMP Celebrates Independence Day with Twin 76’s plus Northstar Fireworks
/N. Woodstock, NH — Incredibly it is nearly the month of July, and we inch ever closer to the favorite holiday of Americans and race fans. Independence Day weekend is annually one of stock car racing’s greatest events on the calendar and White Mountain Motorsports Park is no exception. The exciting Twin 76 program starts your holiday weekend off right with two 76 lap events for the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models and round two for the J.P. Sicard Flying Tiger Triple Crown series. Established in honor of 1776, the founding year of our United States, the night will also be capped off by an epic fireworks celebration courtesy of East Montpelier, Vermont’s Northstar Fireworks.

Obviously the one every fan should keep their eye on is Shane Sicard. The Barton, Vermont native is four-for-four in extra distance Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tiger events, sweeping all three J.P. Sicard Triple Crown events for the championship in 2021 and continuing his winning ways in round one back in May. Looking to crack that streak is Harwick, Vermont’s Jaden Perry. Champion of the 2020 Triple Crown, Perry is second is standings followed by fellow Vermonters Jason Woodard, rookie Kaiden Fisher and Stephen Donahue. All will be packing a punch in the 76-lap event come Saturday.

The Foley Oil & Propane Late Models 76-lap event will also be hotly contested. Following his win last Saturday, Groveton’s Quinny Welch holds a seven-point lead over Alby Ovitt and for the man that salutes the Stars and Stripes with every win, he’d love nothing more than to take the patriotic 76-lap main event. Don’t count out Ovitt who has so far taken a second, third and fourth in three events and is looking for his first win of the season. Also hot-to-trott will be former champions Stacy Cahoon and Jeff Marshall who fare well in longer distance events while St. Johnsbury’s Kasey Beattie has been strong to start the season.
Following their 50-lap special last Saturday, the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis return for a white-knuckle 25-lap main event once again. Currently, Littleton’s Tyler Thompson holds a strong lead in the point standings over Chris Moulton and Donnie Baumgardner. Unfortunately for Thompson, the odds may be against him. The Strictly Minis have had four different winners in four events so far in 2022 with the trend looking to continue in the highly competitive 4-cylinder division.

The Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division also returns this Saturday after hometown boy Kyle Goodbout took down the win over newcomer Bentley Robbins and fellow veteran Logan Farnsworth. Waterford, Vermont’s McKenna Merchant will certainly be looking to return to her winning ways during the Twin 76 program while young Walker Fitch has been right in the thick of things all season and is itching for his first White Mountain win.

White Mountain Motorsports Park continues the 2022 season this Saturday, July 2nd with the patriotic Twin 76s for the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models and Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers as they contest the second round of the J.P. Sicard Triple Crown Series. Also on tap will be the Woodsville Guaranty Saving Bank Strictly Stock Minis and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division with the night ending in fireworks courtesy of Northstar Fireworks in East Montpelier, Vermont. Post Time is set for 6:00pm with General Admission tickets set at $15 for adults, $5 for kids 12 and under and Family Four Packs available for $30.
