White Mountain Teams Ready for a Saturday Shakedown Practice Day

N. Woodstock, NH — The long, cold New England winter is the seasonal break that every racer both dreads and needs. A season’s worth of battered body panels, dented chassis bars and worn-out bearings, spindles, calipers and, well, everything else under the hood has been replaced and its finally time for the White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP) faithful to drive back down Route 3 to test their repairs during Saturday’s open practice day.

The Foley Oil & Propane Late Models are an interesting mix of hardened veterans and fresh rookies. From Stacey Cahoon’s car built back in 2003 to Quinny Welch’s brand-new Dale Shaw Race Cars machine, there’s no telling which multi-time champion will come out on top on opening day! Of course, longtime Late Model competitors Jeff Marshall, Matt Morrill, Oren Remick and rookies Ryan Ware and Bryan Wall Jr. may have something to say about that too!

The Wells River Flying Tigers are also ready to shake down for a few laps in the mountains. Defending champion Jason Woodard is ready to kick things off with a few laps around the quarter mile, as invader Kyle Streeter and last year’s top rookie Tanner Woodard. Of course, both Jody and Shane Sicard are both ready to roll as are ‘Uncle Mike’ Potter and nephew Matt.

The Woodsville Guarantee Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis, Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division and Wayne’s Market Dwarf Cars will also have the first opportunity to hit the track this weekend, as will the most excited group of newcomers in 2022, the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models. With inquires still flooding the WMMP office weekly, the division will feature the best 4-cylinder drivers in Northern New England during their five-race schedule in 2022.

White Mountain Motorsports Park opens the 2022 campaign with a 30th Season Opener Doubleheader Weekend on May 14 and 15. Saturday, May 14 at 6:00pm is a four-division card with added-distance features for the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Mini’s, and Wayne’s Market Dwarf Cars. Sunday, May 15 at 1:00pm features the debut of the New England Supermodified Series plus the PASS Super Late Model 150, PASS Modifieds, Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models, and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division.
