Looking Ahead; Five Favorites for 2025
/N. Woodstock, NH — With the new year upon us, White Mountain Motorsports Park officials are already looking down the pike at year thirty-three for New Hampshire’s Favorite Short Track! Five events have been carefully chosen from the impressive and exciting 2025 schedule as some of our most anticipated shows of the upcoming season as we continue to prepare for the year ahead.
May 17 & 18, 2025 – HK Powersports Opening Weekend Doubleheader!
The 33rd season of Thunder in the Mountains begins in earnest with the HK Powersports Opening Weekend at White Mountain Motorsports Park! The action begins with the annual Car Show on Saturday, May 17 from 10:00am to 12-noon before the five division HK Powersports Season Opener begins at 6:00pm. Headlined by the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, Saturday night will also feature the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Minis, Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models, Dwarf Cars, and Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division.
The very next day, Sunday, May 18 brings the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models for the first of three 150-lap visits to White Mountain Motorsports Park! Complete with the New England Supermodified Series and Kennebec Equipment PASS Modifieds, the Fisher Auto Parts Flying Tigers also start their season with the first round of the Central Asphalt Paving Triple Crown and the opener to the ACT Tri-State Series!
June 7, 2025 – ACT Kancamagus 150 & Monaco Modified 100!
Following their White Mountain debut last year, the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series returns with a twist. Now paired with the American-Canadian Tour Kancamagus 150, the Monaco Modifieds will join the iconic full fendered division for a 100 lap sprint around the North Woodstock highbanks in a popular return to the New Hampshire bullring. Jake ‘The Jet’ Johnson took fate and strategy into his own hands to take the inaugural victory last year and with the added element of the ACT Tour invasion, this is sure to be one of the best events of the summer in Northern New England with a little bit of everything to please any race fan!
June 28, 2025 – NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Thunder in the Mountains 200!
After four years away, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour makes its grand return to White Mountain Motorsports Park for the Thunder in the Mountains 200 on Saturday, June 28. NASCAR made its debut at White Mountain in 2020 during the COVID-19 closures of multiple facilities with racers immediately taking a liking to the highbanks and finally the stars aligned once again for this year’s Thunder in the Mountains 200. All the NASCAR stars including Justin Bonsignore, Ron Silk, Jon McKennedy, Austin Beers and ‘Big Money’ Matt Hirschman are among those expected to hunt down the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win at White Mountain on June 28.
July 12 & 13, 2025 – Flying Tiger $2,000-to-Win, 100 Lap Showdown and PASS Spectacular Doubleheader
The second doubleheader weekend of the season comes on July 12 and 13 with an added twist for 2025. Saturday, July 12 is headlined by a new 100-lap, $2,000 to win feature event for the Fisher Auto Parts Flying Tigers along with the popular return of Kids Rides from 2:00pm to 2:45pm. Saturday will feature all five point counting divisions with the Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division getting the night off.
Sunday, July 13 brings the return of the PASS Spectacular line-up, including the PASS Super Late Models, New England Supermodified Series and Kennebec Equipment PASS Modifieds while also featuring the return of the Prelude to the Milton CAT 250 Qualifier for the American-Canadian Tour. Tanner Woodard stole the show last July with over twenty cars taking their chance in the 75 lap feature as they looked to punch their ticket early for August’s Milton CAT Midsummer Classic 250.
August 3, 2025 – 8th annual Milton CAT Midsummer Classic 250
Speaking of White Mountain’s marquee event of the summer, the 8th annual Milton CAT Midsummer Classic 250 returns to the highbanks on Saturday, August 3. American-Canadian Tour competitors from across New England and the Province of Quebec will invade White Mountain for the longest-distance race of the season and one of the biggest prizes of the year!
Alongside the ACT Tour stars, the weekly warriors of White Mountain get to perform in front of the biggest crowd of the season! The Fisher Auto Parts Flying Tigers, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Minis and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division all get their moment in the limelight in between some of the most hotly debated qualifying action on the American-Canadian Tour schedule! In it’s eighth edition, the Milton CAT Midsummer Classic 250 will once again be the can’t-miss showdown of the year!
