White Mountain Sets Format for 30th Season Opening Doubleheader
/NELCAR Legends Confirmed for Two Dates in Latest Schedule Update
N. Woodstock, NH — White Mountain Motorsports Park will celebrate its 30th season of competition on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15. A doubleheader weekend is planned to mark the occasion with eight divisions in action highlighted by the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models.
The North Woodstock oval first opened its doors in 1993. With that year being the first of racing on the high banks, 2022 will be year number 30 for “Thunder in the Mountains”. Track officials have thus made the first weekend one that will set the tone for a huge season ahead.
The 30th season celebration begins Saturday, May 14 with the annual White Mountain Car Show from 10:00am to 1:00pm. All six local divisions are welcome to display their cars on the track and meet fans.
Opening practice will follow with a 6:00pm post time for the first round of racing action. The four-division Saturday night card includes a special 60-lap main event (30 seasons times 2) for the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models to kick off their “King of the Mountain” campaign. The Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers will run a 50-lap feature while the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Mini’s and Arnolds Wayside Diner Dwarf Cars each have 30-lap trophy dashes.
The weekend continues Sunday, May 15 at 1:00pm with another four-division program. The PASS Super Late Models are going 150 laps in the first of three scheduled visits to White Mountain this year. The PASS Modifieds have a 50-lap shootout while the Ammonoosuc Mini Late Models make their debut as a local division. The Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division rounds out the Sunday bill.
Pricing and the schedule of events are to be determined. Please check www.whitemountainmotorsports.com for updates.
White Mountain officials also announced that two dates have been confirmed for the GoMotorsportsShop.com NELCAR Legends Tour. They will visit North Woodstock for events on Saturday, May 21 and Saturday, September 3. Because of these additions, the Arnolds Wayside Diner Dwarf Car event recently announced for September 3 has been moved to Sunday, September 18 as part of Fall Foliage Weekend. This balances the program for each show while giving the Dwarf Cars a big stage to race alongside the ACT Late Model Tour.
The NELCAR dates are the latest addition to the 30th season of racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park. The ACT Late Model Tour has three events highlighted by the $10,000-to-win Milton CAT Midsummer Classic 250 on July 30. Other special events include a visit from the Modified Racing Series, the J.P. Sicard Triple Crown Series for the Flying Tigers, a trio of 100-lap weekly Late Model races, and the $5,000-to-win R&R Race Parts Street Stock Open.
