Cornell Set for Foley Oil & Propane Late Model Rookie of the Year Run
/N. Woodstock, NH — Longtime White Mountain Motorsports Park supporter Colin Cornell is looking to take the next step in 2024. After several successful seasons behind the wheel of a Fisher Auto Parts Flying Tiger, and a Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Kid’s Truck before that, Cornell will be making the move to the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models in hopes of capturing the coveted Rookie of the Year title at New Hampshire’s Favorite Short Track!
Colin will pilot a car owned by his father, Paul Cornell, that the two recently purchased from a Seekonk Speedway regular in Massachusetts. Keeping the off-season rolling, Cornell has already signed up with a new primary sponsor in TBC Towing out of West Burke, Vermont. Looking at the season ahead, the team has goals to hit while playing it day-by-day with the challenge of a whole-new machine.
“Rookie of the Year is top of our list for sure,” said Colin, “But consecutive top-10 or top-5 finishes is up there too, obviously a first career Late Model win would be ideal. I can honestly say I’m nervous but we’re all looking forward to the new challenge. I’d also like to thank my Dad and TBC Towing for jumping on board to make this Late Model run a possibility.”
While While the East Burke, Vermont driver mentioned his priority is weekly racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park for the 2024 Rookie of the Year honors, he also made it clear that he wasn’t ruling out an American-Canadian Tour event or a possible visit to the Vermont Milk Bowl in October.
Cornell and the rest of the White Mountain Motorsports Park faithful will return for some Thunder in the Mountains on HK Powersports Opening Day, Saturday, May 18! Opening weekend is also complete with a Pro All Stars Series doubleheader on Sunday, May 19 that includes the first leg of the all new ACT Tri-State Flying Tiger Series!
Teams have until February 1st to renew their ACT Licenses, keeping their 2023 numbers. Forms must be postmarked on or before February 1st, afterward 2024 season car numbers will be first come, first served.
