Central Asphalt Flying Tiger Triple Crown Starts in Earnest This Saturday, June 3rd
/N. Woodstock, NH — Thunder returns to the Mountains this Saturday, June 3rd with Round #1 of the Central Asphalt Paving Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series at White Mountain Motorsports Park! All your favorite Tiger drivers will be in attendance for the 75-lap showdown with multiple invaders expected to rock the boat. Saturday will also feature the first of two combination events between the traveling Mighty Mini Stock Series and the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models in a special $750 to win showdown.
After opening the season last Saturday, the Fisher Auto Parts Flying Tigers are a clear and defined half-and-half of longtime supporters and new faces. The real mystery of the weekend is which Donahue will pilot the #26 machine? Fan-favorite John piloted the newly-built machine to a third-place finish on opening day but professed in Victory Lane that it was son Stephen’s car and he was just happy to take it for a spin. Either way, Irish Power will certainly be a front runner on Saturday.
Saturday will also play host to the first ever combination event between the Mighty Mini Stock touring series and the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models. Already a hotly contested touring battle, the untested Mini Late Models look to open their 2023 White Mountain track championship battle to the tune of $750 to the lone driver standing victorious in the winner’s circle.
While Jimmy Renfrew Jr. leads the Foley Oil & Propane Late Model point standings, he has committed to the full American-Canadian Tour schedule leaving Kasey Beattie to continue his strong run after taking a career-high win in the 5th annual Spring Board 100 last Saturday. Stacy Cahoon also scored a great start to his 2023 season but several other regulars have a hard climb to come. After a hard hit to the frontstretch wall, Quinny Welch is working hard in the shop to prepare for the weekend with nothing but his record ninth track title defense in mind. Ryan Ware, Mike Jurkowski and rookie candidate Kyle Goodbout are among those looking to bounce back this weekend.
The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Minis are once again prepared to be the event of the night. The fan-favorite 4-cylinder class put on plenty of thrills at the season opener and look to match their usual excitement on Saturday. The Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Kid’s Division also put on a great show last Saturday with several new faces joining some wily veterans from last season. Another action-packed feature for the youngsters is expected!
