2021 WMMP Season: By the Numbers

2 — Jillian Baumgardner (Strictly Stock Mini’s) and McKenna Merchant (Kid’s Trucks) were the only two females to win features at White Mountain in 2021. They combined for six victories.

2 — Kasey Beattie pulled the rare feat of being a White Mountain Rookie of the Year in two straight seasons. Beattie was the Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tiger Rookie of the Year in 2020 and the Foley Oil & Propane Late Model Rookie of the Year in 2021.

2.29 — Jason Woodard (Flying Tigers) had an average finish of 2.29, just edging the 2.40 of Tommy Smithers (Dwarf Cars) for the best average result in point-counting features.

3 — Shane Sicard pulled a clean sweep in the J.P. Sicard Triple Crown Series, winning all three 75-lap features and the title along with it.

3 — Jimmy Hebert picked up his third career ACT Late Model Tour victory at White Mountain when he won the Fall Foliage 200 on September 26. He joins Brian Hoar, Scott Payea, Wayne Helliwell Jr., and Dillon Moltz as 3-time ACT winners at the track. No one has ever won four ACT races at White Mountain.

4 — Luke Shannon’s margin of victory over Tyler Thompson in the final Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Mini point standings, the smallest gap of any point-counting division.

5 — Number of teenagers who won features in White Mountain’s adult divisions (Luke Shannon, Jillian Baumgardner, Jimmy Renfrew, Tyler Thompson, and Tanner Woodard).

5 — Jimmy Renfrew Jr., Oren Remick, and Donnie Baumgardner all won 5 heat races at point-counting events in 2021. Jeff Marshall added a fifth heat race win at an ACT Late Model Tour event.

5 — D.J. Shaw’s PASS Super Late Model win on September 18 was his fifth such victory at White Mountain. Ben Rowe is the all-time PASS Super Late Model winner at the track with 11.

7 — Thomas Smithers VI and Jason Woodard tied for the track lead with seven victories each.

11 — Jason Woodard and his son Tanner combined for 11 feature wins at White Mountain this season. Ten came in the Flying Tigers (6 for Jason, 4 for Tanner) while Jason also took the Street Stock Open on May 23.

13 — A total of 13 weekly division features were won by registered rookies. This includes a streak of five straight events in the Strictly Stock Mini’s from June 5 through July 10 (four wins by Luke Shannon and one by Donnie Baumgardner). Ironically, the Late Model division, which had the highest average car counts on the season, was the only adult class where a rookie did not win a race.

13 — Max Cookson became the 13th different winner in 15 PASS Modified events at White Mountain. Tyler King and Bill Dixon are the only multi-time PASS Modified winners at the track.

14 — Including ACT Late Model Tour events, there were 14 different winners in the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, more than any other White Mountain division.

14 years, 324 days — Luke Shannon became the youngest winner of the year in White Mountain’s adult divisions on Opening Day (May 8), when he took the Strictly Stock Mini feature in his first start with the division.

24 — Number of drivers who got at least one podium finish in the Late Models this year, more than any other division.

29 — White Mountain Motorsports Park completed its 29th season of racing in 2021. It will celebrate the 30th season during 2022.

48 — The number of drivers who won at least one feature at White Mountain this season across all weekly divisions and touring series.

57 — The number of drivers who ran at least one point-counting Late Model event in 2021. The Strictly Stock Mini’s were second in total unique drivers with 47.

63 years, 70 days — Age in years of Stacy Cahoon when he won the NH Governor’@ Cup on July 24, making him the oldest winner at White Mountain this year. “Downtown” Bobby Brown and Brett Jackson also won races at age 60 or older.

$10,800 — The total purse and contingency awards Jason Corliss bagged for winning the Midsummer Classic 250 on July 31, the largest prize at any White Mountain event this year.
